This magnetic tumbler is powered by strong magnets that move around the motor, causing a magnetic pull on the stainless steel shot and cleaning solution. The stainless steel pin shot acts like thousands of smooth, flat hammers that hit the surface of your piece creating a burnished finish. Because the pins are so small, they are able to get into the smallest of areas, which would normally take you a lot of time to clean. The finished result is a bright, shiny and work-hardened piece. We would however still recommened final polishing for perfect results.
| Pros | Cons |
| Quicker finished results within 30 minutes, faster than rotary barrel. | Does not produce a final finish. |
| Heavy duty plastic bowl has a longer life span compared to rubber barrels. | Does not obtain a reliable or consistent finish on large flat surface areas. |
| No wear and tear with belts compared to rotary barrel polishers. | Does not remove scratches or blemishes - this should be done before final finishing. |
| Quieter machine due to house mechanics. | Cannot be used on catches or other items that contain steel or iron (ferrous metal) parts. |
| Saves time and money. | Not suitable for soft stones. |
| Burnishes hard to reach areas. | |
| No metal loss as it is not an abrasive process. | |
