Yes, the Pleated filter (MERV 14) used in the Foredom Filter Extractor Hood With LED Light can effectively capture airborne silica dust. It traps 95% or more of particles sized 3.0–10 microns and 85% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, covering the typical size range of silica dust (0.3 to 5 micron). By combining it with the Charcoal filter (MERV 13) that captures around 75% of particles in the 0.3–1.0 micron range, it should allow optimal filtration for enhanced air quality.
